Welcome Letter
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We cordially welcome you to Thessaloniki and to the 2nd Infant Hip Ultrasound Course of Northern Greece!
The St Luke’s children orthopaedic and radiology department is organising a 3-day educational course on the diagnosis and treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip using Graf method.
It is the 2nd course catering mainly for orthopaedic specialists, radiologists and paediatricians and it will be held at St Luke’s Hospital (2nd floor). Given the limited number of participants strict priority will apply. The main trainer is Professor Reinhard Graf who developed the technique that bear how name.
Course coordinators are Mr Vasileios Goulios director of St Luke’s children orthopaedic department and Mr Nikolaos Skoulikaris radiologist. They are using Graf method since 2012 leading to early diagnosis of DDH which is of pivotal importance for an excellent final therapeutic result.
Recognising the significance of the method and the need to disseminate our knowledge to our colloquies we believe that this course contributes substantially towards early diagnosis and elimination of any complications.
DDH of the hip is a significant diagnostic and treatment problem. The Graf method is an ultrasound classification system for DDH in infants. It is very fast method that is extremely safe for the infant. The use of the method for early and faster diagnosis of DDH has drastically decreased surgery for this condition.
The team and the organizing and sponsoring parties will do everything to guarantee the friendly environment to our guests for the effective scientific work and networking.
We very much expect you to enjoy this exciting course, set in Thessaloniki!
